Careful

The backpack is fine, but I would only recommend this for soccer kids that are 8 or younger. As I noticed others mention, this is way too small for most kids. If you put the ball in there, you will have very little space left.

Perfect for a kid!

This backpack is great, it has a spot for everything including a size 3 (regulation for 6 year olds) ball, her cleats, a water bottle, shin guards and her uniform. I even have enough room to put a hand pump with attachments in there and excess room to spare. On the back is a plastic nameplate to put a card in so you know whose is whose, and the straps adjust perfectly to her shoulders while giving her room to grow. This bag would most likely not work for most adults as the shoe pockets on the side will not be big enough for your cleats. Also I am certain a size 5 (adult regulation) ball will not fit easily into the ball compartment. However if you are looking for a bag for your kids to use during the soccer season, look no further, you have found it.

This really is good for a size 3 or 4 ball. I mean it will fit a size 5 ball if you squeeze it in, but takes up too much room, so wouldn't recommend it. My son puts his stinky cleats in toe down, one each in the outside mesh pockets. Get some of those sneaker odor balls and drop them right in, works well. Fits his two game jerseys, extra shorts and socks, shin guards, and a sweat shirt. I even stuff a water bottle in there upright sometimes. He's been using it for two seasons along with soccer camp and it has held up well. I'd say this will work for most kids up until about U10. After that I'd probably find a bigger bag.

there are several little pockets for personal items like ID cards

I bought this for my 9 year old son who always seems to misplace one or more pieces of his soccer gear, especially when we are running late to a game. My hope is that all gear will be in this bag and ready to go at all times. So far, I think it is going to work out. The side pockets are big enough to put a shoe in each one (he wears a size 3). I don't think adult shoes would fit in the pockets- they would need to go inside the bag if they were much bigger. Inside the bag, there are several little pockets for personal items like ID cards, deodorant, etc. My son is able to fit everything he needs in there, including his warm up gear. It's great to have everything in one place!
